A B30 has 4 extra nuts 140-160 1975

What a manly car! You figure 12 nuts to hold on the intake, 4 of which share the exhaust header would be enough, but no, there are 4 more under the intake shared with the exhaust. Comes out real easy that way!

The exhaust came off, not out, and two of the nuts came out with the screws. That's not a disaster, I hope. I was just going to screw them back in to the proper torque.

Additional problem!!!!!

The exhaust manifold won't come out far enough to install a new gasket. There are tubes(?) in the center of each port that stick into the block about 2". The best way would be to unscrew the manifolds from the down pipe, but I am afraid of the enormous amount of rust on these bolts. Should I try disconnecting the tailpipe after the 2to1 merge? I am afraid of damaging the down pipes, and lifting the whole thing out looks a little tough.

Any ideas????

Klaus
