Rough running 87' 760 Turbo continued ! 700

I have a rough running 760 turbo that will drop out at different rpm ranges like it is going to die. If you mash the gas it will usually come back quickly, if you are easy with it it will come back but will take longer. It is worse around 2000-2500 rpm. If you run at a high rpm it is less likely to do it. I replaced the distributor, thinking it was the hall sensor--it was not! Other things I have tried; new plugs, wires, and cap. Changed knock sensor, and air mass meter. Checked ground by computer at A-pillar. Listened to the fuel pump, the pitch does not change when the engine cuts out. The engine starts and idles fine. The turbo spins freely. The wiring harness does not look too badly except some of the insulation is gone on a couple of grounds, like the one on the intake. I was 90% sure I had it with the distr., now I'm back to square one. Ideas would be greatly appreciated!
