Bulb failure light intermittent flashing??? 900

My kid smacked the right front signal light lens on the 94 944 enough to smash it but not the turn signal bulb inside. Easy enough to find a replacement in the $35 range so that's done. I cleaned the turn signal bulb up with sandpaper and put it back. I checked the bulb harness for corrosion...everyting looked OK When I say looked OK, I mean the filaments are intact.

BUT...with the headlights on, stepping on the brakes and putting the right turn signal on, I intermittently get the Bulb Failure warning light flashing with the turn signal.
I checked the rear bulbs and they look OK. Any ideas??? Thanks!
