transmission elec. problem 200 1990

question to all 240 experts , has anyone had a similar experience and how did you fix it. my 240 wagon automatic , was driving strange yesterday, the transmission sounded like it was not shifting up ,the rpm got louder than normal.and some times it shifted normal. then when it was acting up and not shifting i hit the up shift button on the shifter and the lights dimmed for a moment and when i parked i noticed the day time head lights did not work but the lights did work with the dask light knob. could i have blown a fuse or is there a problem with the relay. any thoughts you have will help thanks. Rich
