Transmission disengaging 200 1983

Hey guys,
Having a weird problem with my 240. On cold start i can reverse it out of the garage and then drive it up the driveway and come to a complete stop at the edge of the street. When i try and pull out, it seems like the car has gone into Nuteral and just revvs without any power going to the weels. Ive noticed this on different locations so its not geographical and intrestingly only happens one time on cold start - doesn't happen when the engine is warm.

It usually reingages after a period of time then im good to go, but does anyone know what im talking about ???
