knock sensor at fault- can anyone explain?

From what I've seen with knock sensors(two on my car) they can go bad and never send a code that anything at all is wrong. Mine wasn't as bad as yours but the car would not pull as well as it used to. I replaced both sensors and power reapeared. No codes were set at all. From what I'm starting to gather temp sensors can go wrong, leave no codes, and cause havoc with performance as well. Lots of little things that can slip by the obc, will leave you wondering.
