Which years AW 70 or AW 71 automatic tranny will fit my 740? 700 1986

OK...I've located several good AW automatic tranny's on eBay and locally,etc. BUT I don't know which years will fit.
Does anybody have a list of AW 70 or AW71 that will fit?
Which one is a better choice for longevity?
I just saw a 93-95 940 nonturbo AW71 for cheap...will this fit my 86 nonturbo?
