Front Bearings 200

My 84 245 needs new front bearings and races. It's been a long time since I've done this kind of thing, and I need to know how to remove the inner bearing and race. My memory of doing this in the past on domestics was simple. Tap the race out of the hub with a punch, clean the hub and put the new parts in place. It sounds simple just now, but my fuzzy memory tells me a two by four is needed. Anyone have any advice? Any brick 'quirks' I need to know about? I do recall the correct way to pack a bearing.....
Thanks,
Mark
