Something interesting on oil grade

Just saw a thread on Bobistheoilguy.com

To sum it up, the Germans think as long as the oil allows the engine to turn over and start, it's not too thick. This is quite different from what I have learnt before. I always reserve the Delvac 15W40 for long distance trip in summer, now it seems I can run it in the car every day?
