Hello all,
You may recall my post earlier in regards to the headlights I scored on ebay for my 1990 240. You may also recall my distress with my father in installing them. I've decided that my family relationships are more important than headlights, so they're for sale!
Background on these: they were purchased from a retired RAF officer in the UK. He bought his Volvo new in 1988 in Sweden, and these lights were installed on his car for the drive back through the continent to the UK. A set of UK-spec (RHD) lights were included in the trunk for installation upon arrival to the UK. According to him, these lights were installed on the car for 1-2 weeks, and were in storage in his attic ever since. Other than a bit of dust, they look it.
All trim is included (chrome - a bit of metal polish and the chrome would be spotless), and all lenses are in pristine, like-new condition. All original bulbs are included(!), except for the white side marker bulbs, which I removed and replaced with amber bulbs, so the side markers would glow orange and not be strange to a North American driver. The european lenses for the side markers remain, however, and you could easily go back to "true" european spec by going to Walmart and buying the non-amber equivalent bulb.
I really, REALLY hate to let these go, but my relationship with my family takes priority over these lights. Regretfully, I have no pictures (no dig. camera), but I can assure you they are in as good of condition that used Euro lights will ever be. I would be almost more inclined to call them "New, Old Stock".
All that said, I am selling them for what I paid for them, $350 plus shipping, which I don't anticipate will be very much if sent by UPS or Fedex Ground. If I don't get any takers on this board, I plan to put them on Ebay, so now's your chance!
