Timing Marks 1800

I am rebuilding the engine in my 72 1800E. It’s a B20F. I replaced the cam with a stock “D” grind. My question is, how should I set up the timing gears?

I’m not entirely sure what the position of the distributor drive was when it came apart. I know where the rotor was pointing to align with #1 cylinder. I also think that the timing mark on the cam gear was 180 degrees from the timing mark on the crank gear when the #1 cylinder was at top dead center.

Should I align the timing marks with number 1 cylinder at top dead center and then install the distributor drive at the 5 degrees position ?

Thanks
Clem
