Electronic Odometer Problems 200 1991

I Have an electronic K10042 speedometer/odometer that is giving me fits.
I have replaced the broken gear and seem to have burned up 2 motors and it still does not work.
I thought I had it fixed when it quit after 400 miles. The electric motor was warm so I replaced it and the circuit board with a spare one I had and it worked for another 50 miles and quit again. I am assuming the motor is burned up again but have not taken it apart.
Does anyone have any ideas? Or a spare K10042 speedometer they want to get rid of? The speedometer continues to work it is the odometer that has been failing. Thanks Dan
