Weird Hum in my 1990 740, Also a Rex Ragina question??? 700 1990

Hi All, got the mounts changed in my newly aquired 740 wagon, and that has improved the noise level in the cabin area quite a bit. In poking around the engine while its running I've noticed what sounds like a rotational hum coming from behind the cylinder head. Is the fuel pump mounted up near the engine on this car? Also I'm guessing its of the REX variety because I can't find the usual AMM on this beast, it has a sensor in the air intake elbow and that's it. The distributor is mounted in the rear of the head, but has a big square coil instead of the round cylinder type of the bosch systems. The fuel filter is under the car but did not see a main pump under there with it, so I have the REX system?
Thanks for any info...
