I am a volvoholic........ 700

....just bought another, my third. $1000.00 CAN for an 89 740 turbo, rebuilt engine with 140,000 km. on it. Why it was rebuilt, no one knows...I'm talking to the mechanic tommorow that serviced the car for years.

Anyways, I'd love to rave about how great a deat I got :>:>:>, but....I'm off the the parts places to grab new fluids, plugs, etc.

My question is : the oil filter is located in a different position than usual.

Normally they come perpendicular to the block on the passenger side, this one comes off at a 45. angle facing the rear of the car, passenger sie of the block.

What gives?

I noticed that the car has a Hall sensor of the disto, rather than the crank pos. sensor, but the door I.D. says the tenth month of 1988, so maybe it's an 88 engine?

Stumped, but loving it, Josh...
