K-Jet running rich? 140-160 1974

Have you got a B20E or B20F? I have an E with K-Jet that runs on with the very average fuel we have here. The problem is K-Jet continues to spray fuel for a few seconds after the fuel pump is turned off. It will be no problem when you change to a manual box because you can let the clutch out as you turn the ignition off & stop it. Mine gets 21 Imperial MPG with an average BW35, 30 with a 5-Speed Toyota box.
