Fuel pump relay quirk on 87 240 200

I am trying to get my 90 started using the fuel pump relay from my running 87.Here is the strange part. The 87 relay will not start the 90[computer? see houston part 2 post].My 90 relay along with other spares will start the 87 but the car will not shut down.I also notice that the 87 in key position 2 will run the pump non stop instead of for few short seconds.Note all the white relays are Volvo, some have brass terminals others have white terminals. Some say Germany others Hungary. Is this the sign of a failed relay? Also should the fuel pump run non stop on key 2 in an 87?T
Thanks and still need ideas for starting the 90,
Nelson
