STARTER RELAY KIT 900 1994

I'm installing a bosch starter relay kit (WR1)in my 1994 940 turbo to alleviate the hot start problems that have been plaguing me for years. If you are familiar with this relay kit, I placed the green/blue wire that feeds starter solenoid to the 87 post on the new relay. When I turn the ignition to the on position without attempting to start the car, the new relay closes and attempts to start the car in the on position and will continue to attempt to start the car even if the car is already running until I turn the key to off. Where am I going wrong here? I would like to install everthing from under the hood of the car without going under the dash to the ignition switch. Can this be done and where am I going wrong?
