In Thor's name, why is this filler plug so tight? 900 1997

I filled the transmission of 93 and 97 960s with Mobil synthetic ATF last week.
(Slight improvement in shifting- I'll wait to see if there are MPG gains).
Wanting to complete the synthetic job, I planned to fill the diiferentials of both cars with Mobil 75-90.
The 97 960's transverse spring obscures the drain plug and the filler plug is hard to reach with all the suspension brackets in the way. I suppose I could pump it out.
The 93 looked easy, the drain plug was accessible and turned easily.
Not so the 13mm filler plug. It has marginally better access than the 97, but try as I might it would not budge!
I have sprayed it with PB Blaster and left it for next week.
Not the most productive of afternoons!

Dan
