What to do with the 145!?!!?!! 140-160

It it was me and I needed/ wanted a second car I would keep it and save my money to make it nice. You could get it painted at Macco for instance and save a bunch of money. If you did that, I would take off all of the trim, winshiled, emblems lights and every other off that I could. I would then sand it down and do most of the needed body work and then have them spary it. It's not so much the painting that you pay for in a paint job, it's the preap. I'm in the same situation as you are in a way. I'm a college student who has just picked up his second 240 six months ago. I bought it becase the price of the car was worth it just for the tires. Now that I have gotten it running, I want to keep it, and hopefully will. It's not perfect, but I just doing doing things here and there to keep it from deterierating and trying to get it to run better early in the morning. If you were to buy a newer car, what would you buy? Another Volvo I hope!lol I don't feel that you could buy another dd for less money, unless you got a good deal on a newer 240 that was already in perfect condition, but I've never seeen a perfect used car. Also, if your prefer the older bricks thats what you need to stick with. If you would be going to a newer car to save money then don't, becuase you won't save a whole lot. I found my self getting all of the upper serfaces of my 1988 240 repainted because of the clear coat falling off. So, even with a "newer car" you will still have to spend some money on it keep it up. Drive the car you want to drive. Good luck and happy bricking.
