auto trans and speedometer ,odometer problems 900 1994

I love my 960 but in the last 5 mo she has not been well it started in below 20'F
though i'm not sure if temp has much to do with it. at first the overdrive would fail then the speedo,and the blinking trans warning lights then when the car warmed up ( about 20-30 miles) the speedo would come back to life and the over drive would work. i replaced vss in differential ,this did not fix problem and now trans does not come back from safe mode and speedo and odometer do not come back to life at all. please help I live 100 mi from nearest volvo dealer and i'm the mech although new to computerized transmissions i,ll learn i hope.
