early 140 front suspension question 140-160 1968

I've got a very early 145 that is plumb wore out.

Should I just replace the wear items (that are worn out) or should I
convert it to the more sturdy later front style suspension? The salvage
yards around here have 140s from time to time so if I keep my eyes out
I can probably find a 73+ 140 from which to harvest the front A arms and
such (heck, I might just pull out the whole crossmember so I don't have
to deal with springs in a junk yard).
