engine quit while driving! HELP 900 1993

Alas spring is here and I dusted of the Brick for some summer driving.

It's been a couple of months and eveything runs great. Thennnnnnnn...... without a warning (that I can figure) I'm driving along about 50 mph and the engine bucked for a second then the oil light came on, then I rolled to a stop.

Can't get the engine to start, but turns over (electrically).

Timing belt? Or.......???

PS I have no leaks and no puddles. oile filter and lube in October, along with a new flame trap and fuel filter.
