VADIS/ALL DATA - CATALOGS

Anyone using All Data, VADIS or other on-line/paper catalogs to identify Volvo Part Numbers, etc? I've used print-outs from the local Volvo Parts dept (VADIS system) which are real helpful when it comes to id'ing parts needed.

Evidentily, the indications are that the VADIS system cost (approx $4500) is very high. There are however paper parts catalogs (about $120 for 760 & $60 for 240) from Volvo which are more affordable. Also, All Data has on-line access to OEM part numbers and I believe service information for about ($15 year).

Is the All Data product very useful? The vehicles are '89 700 series and '91 240 series. (BTW, VADIS states that it is for 1994 and up vehicles -- yet the local dealer's system does cover previous years. Perhaps they also have access to older versions.)

Or is the paper Volvo parts catalogs the best way to go?

What are you using and how well does it work for you? Does it cover all/most all part numbers? Does it include service information, diagrams, TSBs, and other useful information?

Thanks!
