auto trans and speedometer ,odometer problems 900 1994

1.28 with the meter set at 20k means 1.28k ohms which should be fine. 0.002k (2 ohms) at the speedo connection is not ok though - this indicates a shorted speedo input filter stage. Could be a simple (cheap) repair at the right place (old fashioned radio/TV shop or similar) but I guess this is the time to go for a new or used one. Inspect the printed circuits at the back of the instrument cluster carefully for shorted leads before ordering/replacing. Any speedo out of a 1991-94 940, 960 or 740 (with 900 dashboard design) should work.
