Help me PLEASE Discussion at work 200 1986

1985 240DL. I was 17. I came over the top of a hill north of Austin TX. I was going about 70mph. All of a sudden the cars in front of me changed lanes, but the truck directly infront of me did not. I could not see around the truck. Next thing I know he is standing on his brake. I finally can see what the problem is. A car in the left lane trying to turn accross oncoming traffic into a parking lot. There is actually no on coming traffic, so why he had not turned is beyond me. So I am too close and too fast to come to a complete stop behind the truck, so I go to stear around to either miss him or clip him. My front bumper slide under his bumper. Ever crushable part on the passangers side front was crushed. hood folded in half, front fender mashed. The car was basically totaled, though could still drive(radiator was blown, so it could run, just not for long). I, and my 2 friends, walked away with only poo stains in our shorts.

Insurance called it totaled. 250$ at the junk yard, 1 plasma tourch, and a couple spot welds and you would never know it happened. Had the frame checked...no damage. Just crush plates and a radiator/headlights.

I still have this 85.
