Help me PLEASE Discussion at work 200 1986

Thankfully, I do not have any survival stories to relate for myself, my wife or my son and his family and between us we have had over 20 Volvos. However, Volvos, particularly the 240, are loaded with built in safety features that can be discussed. A few that come to mind are the front crumple zone which can be demonstrated by pointing out the little kink in the side of the hood which causes it to fold in a head on. The sloping mount of the motor mounts cause the engine to go under the passengers compartment in an accident. The dual diagonal braking system is a PITA to bleed but prevents loss of braking power if a line is damaged. The massive triangular shields on either side of the fuel tank is another feature. I had heard years ago that Volvo had fought airbags years ago because they felt that a well designed car, with belted in passengers was better, especially if air bags caused riders to be careless about buckling up. I put R-Sport steering wheels in 3 240s and although they are made by Momo, they were designed over 20 years ago with the ability to collapse if hit hard. I'll stop now and let others hop in.
