*sigh* a picture speaks a thousand words and I think most would agree that if this grill had included a close up shot of the purported "blemishes," (which were actually major faults that needed to be fixed for me to even want to install it on my car, you can see them from 5 feet away but for some reason not in the picture) I would have still bought the grill for $100 knowing that it would need to be repaired and rechromed.
It's the description that got my goat. If you tell people what they're getting and they still buy it, everyone is happy.
I recently totalled my Audi 5000 and am selling it off piece meal. I have told people exactly what they're getting prior to the sale and havne't had any problems...yet. Perhaps now the old saying "what's comes around goes around" may happen to me now though. There is bound to be a disagreement.
The Volvo is a bit more touchy, because there is this community of people who agree something is "good" "very good" or just "fair" and I'm still learning what it all means.
Thanks for the comments. I read these comments with a discerning eye because I know these parts are hard to come by and don't want to step on any toes. But I also want my car to look and run great when I'm done, and my pocket book need not suffer needlessly:)
Re: the water pump I bought from the same seller. This was a brand new water pump and I haven't installed it yet, but I thought it looked great (just as described) and I received it quickly too. In this case, the service was Excellent. And yes, he was rude to me after I left the nuetral feedback. But I just blew it off.
