Stupid Question about turbo/non-turbo 200 1982

I have been tooling along working on my '82 242 and a question I was asked last weekend on the phone with a parts store threw me for a loop.

I needed a new fuel filter and was checking inventory. The guy asked me turbo or non turbo and I said non. He then asked, so you need the filter that is under the car by the fuel pump, not in the engine compartment?

Here's where my confusion begins, my fuel filter is in the engine compartment, which is where the parts guy, and my haynes manual have started me down a road of confusion and questioning. Both say that the fuel filter is in the engine compartment for turbo models.

Any ideas? How can I figure out exactly what I have?
