Spark plug questions again 700

I've had a set of Bosch Plat 4's in my 740T for about 9 months now. they were recommended as being the greatest, blah blah etc. A month or so ago, I learned that these plugs are not recommended for T's- couldn't find the reason, and I should remove them. They seemed to work OK. I got a set of NGK BPR6EY's, checked the gap to see if it really is .028, and put them in. I was told that the V- groove plug is really good for a turbo - less chance of blowing them out under boost. Comparing, I think the NGK's accelerate better for a standing start, but they seem to lack something at highway speed accelerations. I'm trying to get the best gas milage, not create a street racer, BTW. 'Nuff of those around as it is.
So I guess I could use a lesson in plugs, what I am dealing with, and if I'm doing the right thing, or could i do better. Any teachers out there?
