So... since you can put it in reverse, and turn it over, it doesn't start? I'd begin by checking for spark under those circumstances. Should be able to hold the car with the handbrake.. THat would confirm whether or not some odd electrical system glitch. Could be something wierd with a neutral saftey switch, or as simple as the linkage hitting a wire somewhere...
