BW35, no clutch in Reverse? 140-160 1975

I remember when one of my BW 35s bit the dust it was a similar situation. I put mine in reverse and it was as if reverse and a forward gear were both engaged at the same time. Had to shut the car off and push it out of the parking space.

Anyway, all the forward gears still worked so at least I could get home. I tried cleaning the valve bodies in the trans according to the factory Volvo service manual but it didn't help any so I made the switch to a manual transmission instead.

It's been a few years, but I think I was able to move the car with the starter when the saftey switch was disconnected. I think the starter spins the engine at about 250 rpm so you may get some movement but I just can't remember for sure.
