Another steering box question 444-544

The steering box has been taken off the car again and we (the local garage and I) inspected it as fas as possible with the top cover removed.
The worm seemed to be in good shape, but there appeared to be too much play on the bearings. Though I have paid for a reconditioning procedure by a Volvo specialist and assumed renewing of the bearings was a part of that procedure, it obviously was not. Now I understand why their bill wasn't specified.
I've now decided to send it to a steering box specialist for a thorough investigation and replacing of the bearings. Yeah, I can hear you think, should have done that in the first place...
