AC Conversion

I have to replace some leaky hoses on both 89s (one 240, one 740) and am thinking about doing the conversion to the more environmentally friendly refrigerant. I know I should replace the receiver drier, and all the seals, but is it really necessary to replace the condenser? Before the hoses popped, both cars were producing good cold air.

Any experience with this conversion out there. BTW, I'm not planning on doing the actual work myself, I'll just get the parts, let a local mechanic do it.
