Ignition problems? 120-130

Mea culpa!!!!!

As emBARE-ASSed as I am to say, the fuel filter was plugged with rust!! I really should have anticipated this since the car sat for many years with fuel in the tank!!! STUPID!!!

I did find a carb float about half full of gas in the process. A secondary issue, but one in need of repair for sure. I drilled it, drained it, and then patched it to get home and raided the parts store (culch). Fixed!!!

I was asked in an E-mail what a "Sun" machine was, so here it goes...A "Sun" machine is an ignition analyzer. Basically it is a purpose-built oscillosope you can examine the voltage outputs in the primary electrical system to make sure that the ignition system is working up to speed. Also timing, dwell, and other factors can be analyzed at the same time. "Sun" is sort of a generic name that is often used since Sun was the first company to develop and market automotive ignition analyzer oscilloscopes.

Thanks again guys!!!

Mike
