AC conversion: York to rotary compressor? 200

Time to revive the AC in my '82 245. Any suggestions? Still has the original R12 system. I know it's time for a new compressor atleast. Would it make sense to convert to the later rotary-type compressor? I am also seriously considering an alternate HC refrigerant (probably EnviroSafe). Any suggestions about what I might need from the boneyard, or would it be smart to stick with the York?

Thanks again in advance for all your help.
