To Buy or Not to But.....Suggestions? 200 1985

Alright so one of my buddies sent me to a shop the other day to look at a volvo. They have a 1985 240 turbo with get this, 85000 original miles. It is automatic and looks in great condition. Nice turbo wheels, nice leather, nice car all around, but...the guy says that the only thing wrong with the car is the turbo is bad. How can I tell if the turbo is the only thing bad, will the engine still run even if the turbo is bad? Is it easy to replace a turbo? What would you all pay for this car? Thanks for any suggestions and help!
