OIl Color Versus Mileage 200

Hello. Perhaps an odd question but I am curious. I have 2 volvos : an '87 auto with 108,000 miles on it And an'86 manual with 151,000 miles on it. Oil in '86 after an oil & filter change after about 1000 miles still looks brownish color whereas oil in '87 after an oil & filter change looks blackish color after about 750 miles. Why is this ? If anything I would think it should be the other way around. Both cars run well. Neither leaks or uses much oil between changes(maybe 6 to 12 ounzes between changes). As always thanks for insight & information. This site is such a wonderful resource .
