Mobil 1 0W-40 - Yes or No? 200 1987

I noticed that a local surplus store is selling a batch of Mobil 1 0W-40 weight at a very favourable price. Normally I tend to use 5W-40 or 10W-40 synthetic. I rarely see Mobil 1 rebated, so I have been using the less fancy brands like Esso, Shell, Castrol etc., whatever is cheapest when I need it.

So please help me decide; should I stay with 5W-40 of the less high-flying brands, or do I go with the thinner 0W-40 Mobil 1? I should mention that summer temperatures rarely exceed 75-80F in my neck of the woods. I change oil and filter every 3,000 miles as I only drive 6,000 a year and like to change every spring and autumn. Car has 95,000 miles on the clock.

Thanks,
Erling.
