122S Engine Noise...Help 120-130 1966

It is a chronic problem with B16, B18, B20 and B30 engines.
The fiber gear will eventually give out.
When you go to remove the timing cover note that there are 2 5/16" bolts
going through the front of the oil pan into the bottom of the cover. If you
carefully remove the cover you can probably do it without damage to the pan
gasket.
You may want to convert to a neoprene seal rather than felt. If you have
trouble finding a modified timing cover at a reasonable price I may be able
to help. Email me offline.
