88 240 a/c clutch compressor question

last fall the bearings froze in the a/c clutch. per someone's advice on this sight, i ran a belt directly from the ps pump to the main fan assembly, which surprisingly has worked. but, it's getting warmer here in washington dc, and i need to think of getting the a/c going.

should i assume the a/c compressor needs to be replaced with the a/c clutch?
can one replace them separately?
if compressor needs to be replaced, any thoughts on a refurbished, or used, one from a junk yard?

thank you kindly
