wiring harness for my '90 sedan 240 200 1990

i've been having cluster problems, so i am attempting to swap in a different one. upon inspection, i noticed that in switching the clusters, the wiring on the harness is reversed. in my car, the solid blue is 3, solid black 2, and striped is 1. on the cluster i purchased, which still has the plug attached and the wires have been clipped, the solid blue is 1, black 2, and striped 3. do i switch this around to match by color, or stay with the numbering? anyone have an idea? thanks much.
