years ago that happened to me and i fixed in the back yard of a friend house whom i was visiting.

Not a big deal. Maybe renew the front seal too. Uses a cotton/fabric washer. SOak it in motor oil. My brother had a concotion of STP and 40w he would use.

Those are bullet proof engines that can take a lot of abuse. great car i miss mine...
