Brake drum: Going crazy! 120-130 1965

George told us once about an idea I have never had to try, but might work. The benefit of heat is getting the hub hot without heating the axle, so the hub expands but the axle doesn't. Most torches don't heat the hub quickly enough to make that happen. George told of a relative, I believe, who got a big pot of boiling water and poured it over the hub, with the puller under pressure. The water has great heat capacity and so heats up the hub quickly. Certainly worth a try!
