Broken Clutch Cable - Did I Replace It Right ? 200

Hello All. My 1986 240DL Manual Shift Clutch Cable Broke. Replaced it with an off brand italian brand that local foriegn car parts place had. I think I replaced it correctly. It works fine. However my repair manual shows a spring on tranny lever which i do not have. It does seem to return fine. Could mine be missing ? Maybe fell off when cable broke ? Also on the tranny end I have/put back on what I would call a weight which loosley goes over lever and ball/end of cable goes thru. Again manual does not show this part. Final question. How tight should i have adjusted cable. Spec in manual said 1/10 of an inch. My adjustment allows about 1/2 inch or so. Again it is working fine so maybe I should just consider it done and leave it be. Thanks in advance for input, answers, feedback.
