glad Brickboard is still rolling, vinyl seat refurbish question. 120-130

Well, after a long break the car cover is coming off the Amazon. Thought about selling many times due to not having time to devote to it and finish the job. But like many, I've amassed so many parts and have done enough work that it was too hard to let it go. So, God willing, hopefully I will finish this year.

Sounds a little dramatic I know but its funny how life can sideline your plans, even for something as frivolous (I mean necessary) as a forty-year old Volvo. I guess I did such a good job of self-brainwashing when I bought the car that it still seems like a smart thing to do.

Anyway to my questions.

I've scored a pretty good set of rear seat skins and just got done doing the deep clean in the driveway. (woolite and Bon Ami) I'll go over again with some sort of vinyl cleaner and then a protectant.

Before I install I was wondering if anyone had any of those, "be-sure-you-don't-do-this-like-I-did" sort of tips? This is the first time I've reskinned seats.

Any recommendations for vinyl dyes or paint? Hopefully won't be necessary but there are some random skuffs I would like to cover without making the seats look like patent leather.

Thanks,

-Mario E.
