91 245 + pep? 200

so i took the volv for a nice road trip this weekend; 2000 miles round trip. car did amazing as i knew it would (just got it a few months back). only questionable thing is temp gauge reading maybe 1/8 lower than 9:00. had changed t-stat not too long back. hmm.

anywho, got into the mountain passes and that was the only problem. living in the west w/ speed limits @ 75 and comfortable cruising at 85 i felt like i was going to explode the engine when i kicked down to avoid dropping to 70 or 65 (very very scary). btw, b230f w/ aw70. i've read about the various available cams and the adjustable cam gears, is this what i need? do i need a cam with more top end or to just adjust my cam timing towards low end? i am wary to swap cams w/ the auto, i don't want to kick down all the time. i just was thinking that cruising at 85 w/ a more aggressive cam might just do the ticket. any input? anybody in the same boat?

i'm just so tired of kicking down to noise and no extra power. if i'm going to kick down at that speed (& those rpms!) i should be getting _somewhere._ i dunno. anyone?

thanks.
jesse.
