Well, you know the wife is going to want to take it out in trade. Just tell her she won't walk right for a week if she does.
That is the crap shoot of diagnosing your own stuff. I had a brick boarder that came to me to have his pre-pump replaced and use his parts. No problem, I let him know that there is no parts warranty on parts I do not provide and that I cannot guarantee his diagnosis either. He spun the wheel and had me install the unit and guess what? It did not fix his problem. Eventually we got his problem fixed but he had to pay me to diagnose it. In the end his car was squared away and he got quite a bit of free a/c electrical diagnosis out of the deal too.
You know when I think about it, not always but more often than not when I am working on a car that belongs to someone off of one of the boards it is usually a variation on that theme. They've either attempted to diagnosed it themselves or worked on it first or something along those lines. Volvo enthusiasts are definitely a different bunch of customers for sure. I can say this much for them though, I have not met one that I do not like. They all seem to be pretty decent guys, now BMW customers? That is a horse of a different color for sure.
