Clutch wear question 700 1989

Just for my personal interest when I changed the clutch the disk was worn down to the rivets on one side and the other looked like new, is this normal ? The pressure plate and throwout bearing were a mess with unlevel fingers and the bearing was worn down to almost nothing, shifts like a dream although there was a ton of freeplay in the m-47's input shaft so I suspect it is not long for this world
