Worn u-joint? 700 1990

I'm noticing a rough feeling when accelerating from stop coming from the rear end. Once the car is rolling freely it's gone. I know that when u-joints go bad they normally 'ping' or are just plain noisy most of the time. Could it be that the rear end itself is actually tilting to the point where the drive shaft to diff angle is too harsh?? My '88 760 had the same issue, but I never took the time to look into it as I was selling it anyway.
