How to pull distributor gear? 140-160 1974

I have a long nose pair of external snapring pliers with serrated teeth on the outside surfaces. Mine are Bluepoint by Snap-On.

Just stick the things into the slot at the top of the gear and while squeezing firmly, jiggle the gear a little back and forth, whilst pulling gently, and just sort of tease it loose. Once the thing starts to move, just follow the direction of rotation right on out.

Hold your tounge just right!

Mike
